Katie was active in the life of the church, working with many ministry efforts. She actively served as the Sunday School Secretary, as Mission Department treasurer, and sung with the Mass Choir occasionally.
Later in life, Katie met her future husband, Willie Major. On July 30,1988, Katie was united in marriage to Willie, who helped bring years of joy and love to her life. Their loving union lasted 27 years. Willie preceded her in death on April 11, 2016.
