Kenneth “Ken” William Fielden of Kansas City, Kansas passed away at home on Saturday, September 11, 2021. He was 79 years old. A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm with a memorial service starting at 5:00 pm at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112.
Ken was born on November 15, 1941 in Longview, Texas to parents, Ansel and Opal Fielden. Being born in Texas, Ken stuck to his southern roots and was a big-hearted man that did not let anything ‘ruffle his feathers’ as he took life in stride. He joined the United States Army and served his country before being honorably discharged. Ken enjoyed to garden and fishing. He was an animal lover and would spend free time feeding the birds around his home. Ken also was an avid rock collector and had rocks from all over the world. He also attended the Open Door Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas.
Ken enjoyed the little joys in life and nothing brought him more joy than his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a hero to many and his compassion was to all those around him; he would help anyone he could. He had an smile that would light up the room and brighten anyone’s day. Ken could be a little ornery at times, but he was such a kind and amazing soul. He touched the lives of so many people and he will be deeply missed.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bob; stepson, Donnie; and son-in-law, Duane.
Left to cherish his memory is his dear wife, Theresa Fielden; children, Kayce Fielden (and grandson, Caleb), Debbie Dreiling, Debbie (Dennis) Weaver, and Dean (Michelle) Jamison; sister, Nancy Miller; brother, Terry (Marilyn) Mitchener; sister-in-law, Kathe (James) Ware-Wolf; numerous dear grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews that he loved so dearly.
