Kevin C. Kaeckell

December 29, 1961June 27, 2018

Kevin C. Kaeckell, 56, of De Soto Kansas, passed away unexpectedly on June 27. Kevin grew up in Kansas City and attended Shawnee Mission North High School. He began working his trade, commercial flooring, at the age of 15, and owned his own business, Custom Carpets for 36 years. He employed many over the years - both friends and family. Kevin took great pride in his work and it can be seen across the city. Kevin's greatest love was his family. Being a father and grandfather brought him his greatest joy. He loved his children, Stephanie, Jason and Danny and their children, Dylan, Alyssa, Lily and James and his large extended family of nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Kevin was married for almost 30 years to Susan and continued to co-parent Alyssa with her after their divorce. He found happiness in his last years with Rose Bogan. He is survived by his three children, Stephanie, Jason and Danny Kaeckell and his four grandchildren, Dylan, Alyssa, Lily and James, his brother Kelly Kaeckell and his father John Kaeckell. He was preceded in death by his mother Dickie Kaeckell and his brother Scott Kaeckell. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Sunday, July 1, 2018 followed by a funeral service at 10:00am on Monday, July 2nd, 2018 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to City Union Mission, 1100 E. 11th St., Kansas City, MO 64106.
