Ms. LaShawna Renee Boykin was born to the union of Mr. Verlice Boykin Sr. and Ms. Jeanette Marie Brown on March 31, 1982. She was the oldest of 3 children. She was the mother of three. Her daughter, DaShawna Marie Hardridge; brother, DeAndre’ Courtez Boykin; maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Claude and Delores Brown; paternal Great Grandmother, Frances L. Goodlow in Kansas City, Kansas, where she was involved in the Youth Choir and the Young Peoples Progressive Union (YPPU). She attended Roosevelt Elementary, West Jr. High and she was in the graduating class of 2000 at Wyandotte High School, Kansas City, Kansas. LaShawna was a free spirit loving young lady. She lived her life to the fullest. She was kind hearted and would give you the shirt off her back. The joys of her life where her children, she loved them more than life itself. She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories; her son, Courtez Eugene Payne and daughter, Shiniece Rochelle Hardridge; parents, Verlice Boykin Sr. (Karla) and Jeanette M Brown; brother, Verlice Boykin Jr. (Darricka); a niece A’Niyah; two nephews, Ay’den and Ar’mon Boykin; paternal grandparents, Jessie B Boykin and Rebecca A Boykin; three aunts, Ilene Maddox (Larry), Anita Boykin and Regina Pearson; five uncles, Thomas Brown, Michael A Brown Sr, Reginal Boykin Sr.(Lisa), Jeffery Boykin Sr. (LaShasta), Anthony Boykin (Michelle); her best friend, Darnell Hardridge and host of cousins and friends.

Dave and Licha and family
Kathy and daughters

I was devastated to hear of David's passing. My heart goes out to you during this difficult time.

David was always such a great friend. There are so many great memories that I will always cherish of our childhood and our SUMMIT FAMILY. Those were some of the best times. He was a genuinely caring and thoughtful person and i was honored and blessed to call him my friend. The gift of his friendship is one that i will forever cherish.

As much as i would like to attend his services, I will not be able to due to health issues but please know that i will be with you in thoughts and prayers.
