

Lewis Raymond McClure, 97, Overland Park, Kansas, died Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Kansas City Hospice House. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 9, at the Porter Funeral Home, located at 1835 Minnesota Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas where friends may call from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial will take place in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens located at 701 North 94th Street in Kansas City, Kansas. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Kansas City Hospice House. Lewis was born August 20, 1917, in Cincinnati, Iowa and had lived in the Kansas City area since 1941. He had been a tool & die maker at the General Motors Fairfax Assembly Plant for 30 years, retiring in 1981. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha in 1995. Lewis is survived by a son and his wife, Jack and Joan McClure, Smithville, Missouri, 2 granddaughters, Kerri Oliver and her husband Kendal, Stacey Karpecki, 1 step granddaughter, Jackie Gonner and her husband, Danny, 5 great grandchildren, Jake, Hailey, Karson, Matt and Nate and 1 great great grandson, Gibson (George).
