Lisa was born November 7, 1973 to James and Mary Jo Krause in Kansas City, Kansas. Met Brian Gale Rees at Piper Lake Club in high school, married June 10, 1995 at Wallula Christian Church. Briele came in 1999, Bailey in 2001. Lisa attended Christ the King elementary, Piper High '92, and graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor’s degree in business in 1997. Flipped burgers and cones at Lansing Rees Dairy Queen until 2002, then stayed home full-time—five years of lunches, fevers, and making some of the best jewelry, to make ends meet.
Lisa Joined Coldwell Banker Reilly & Sons (Now Reilly Homes) in 2007; sold $250 million in Real Estate and no one would ever know if she was selling a home or just juggling chores. The line between Professional and having fun was always blurred with Lisa.
Lisa and Brian loved nothing more than piling into the car—no itinerary, just miles—and heading anywhere: California beaches, New York streets, Florida sun. With Briele and Bailey in back or just the two of them up front, Brian drove while Lisa kept watch, eyes open, singing off-key, telling stories, refusing a single wink of sleep. Thousands of hours, zero regrets. She played cornhole like it was the Olympics, miniature golf like it mattered—cheering louder for other people's hole-in-ones and air mails than her own.
Lisa was Preceded in death by her father James Krause and infant brother James Lloyd Krause Grandmother Mary Hurley and Father in Law Michael Gale Rees. Survived by Brian Gale Rees; daughters Briele Rees Robinson and Josh, Bailey Rees; mom Mary Jo Krause; brother David Krause and Michelle; mother-in-law Marlene Rees Graef and Calvin; aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews across Lansing and Kansas City.
Visitation Friday, December 19, 5:00–8:00 PM. Celebration of Lisa’s Life is Saturday, December 20, 9:00 AM—both at Wallula Christian Church, 23785 S. 139th Street, Leavenworth County, KS.
