Lloyd Swearengin, 92, died peacefully at his home on March 26 surrounded by family. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Sat. March 31 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 1:00-2:00 preceding the service at the funeral home. Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, Micki, of 72 years and his honorary son, Donal Ottens. He left behind three children, Dale Swearengin and wife, Donna; Anita House; Vicki Ottens, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a craftsman who took pride in everything he did from the Army Air Corps WWII to the sheet metal industry, and the Leavenworth Times editorials he wrote. He also loved playing music, but he was the most proud of playing the bagpipes with the KC St. Andrews Pipes and Drums and the Highland Games as well as his pipes student, David Hawley. Lloyd was a loving, faithful and devoted man who was cherished by all who knew him.
