Lonnie Rae Brewer of Spring Hill, Kansas, passed away on July 30, 2021. He was 75 years old. A visitation will be on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 5:00-8:00 pm with a message by the minister at 7:00 pm at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Graveside will be Saturday, August 7, 2021 in Ralph, Alabama.
Lonnie was born on May 6, 1946 in Haynes, Arkansas to Owen and Lucille Brewer. After the family moved to Kansas City, Lonnie attended and graduated from Wyandotte High School. He then enlisted and served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, Lonnie worked in the automotive industry and retired from General Motors.
He married Judy Brewer (Gregory) and had two beautiful sons, Jimmy and Corey. Lonnie stayed very active in the community and was a Warrior of The Tribe of Mic-O-Say and was a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #369.
Lonnie loved NASCAR, tennis, fishing, hunting and playing dominos and cards with his friends. He enjoyed spending his time gardening and above all, being a Papa to his amazing granddaughters. Lonnie was loved by so many and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Lucille Brewer; sisters, Linda Holt and Sarah Stewart; and brothers, David and Paul Brewer;
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Judy Brewer; sons, Jimmy Brewer and his wife Christy, and Corey Brewer and his wife Sherrie; three granddaughters, Katelynn, Gracie, and Sunny Mae; one great-granddaughter, Nova Elizabeth; many nieces and nephews; along with many other dear family members and friends. And his best friend D (Diego) his little chihuahua.
