Lorena Delores Goodlow, 70, passed away on September 1, 2024. She was born on June 13, 1954 in Lincoln Nebraska to Stanley and Mildred Satchell. She spent her childhood years growing up briefly mostly in Baltimore Maryland and Omaha Nebraska, where she would graduate from Tech High School in 1972.
On March 18, 1972 Lorena would marry the love her life Kenneth R Goodlow. Together they would spend the next several years, starting and raising a young family, serving faithfully in the local community, school system, and being known as “the neighborhood dad and mom”. Lorena and Kenneth would become very influential and prominent in the church community. She served in every capacity there was first in her local church in Omaha NE, and in 1975 would begin as a strong support to her husband when they begin to pastor the Church of the Living God Temple 118 in Kansas City MO. Some years later they would begin pastoring Temple #10, in Kansas City KS and Lorena would serve in her own right wherever she could from the kitchen to the choir, and as and Missionary, Evangelist, and Women’s Work President of her local temple. She would go on to become the 7th District President and plateau as the National Women’s Work President of the Church of the Living God C.W.F.F. Everywhere. Once her beloved husband went home to be with the Lord in 2002. Lorena continued to Pastor Temple #10 and the congregation continued to flourish under her leadership as Pastor.
Her love for the Lord was evident and Lorena would go on to become one of the most sought-after speakers, teachers, counselors, workshop presenters, conference speakers here at home in the United States and even abroad. One of her favorite phrases was “Learn it to live it, live it to teach it”.
All while serving in the church and assuming her role in the body of Christ on a broader scale, Lorena would continue to dedicate her love and time offering a helping hand and pouring life, wisdom, and love into everyone she would meet along her path. Her 5 children especially she felt were her greatest accomplishments, and as she was proud as she was to call them hers, in every phase, they were even the more grateful that God chose and entrusted her to raise them. She definitely unquestionably raised them up to live a life of prayer, faith, and learning the Word of God for themselves. Lorena unapologetically stood firm on her declaration, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord”. Lorena dedicated her life and poured her strength into her 5 Children Tresa, Adrian, Tracy, Andre’ and Trisha, and then their children, who would affectionately call her Me’Maw, and finally their children’s children who would become fondly known as “The Goodlow Nation”.
Lorena enjoyed and lived a purposeful, fulfilling life, with her many hobbies, and had a creative nature that was as deep as her dimples. She was a loving wife, mother, pastor, intercessor, teacher, sister confidant and friend. On Sunday Sept 1, she decided she was ready to see her saviors face closed her eyes and departed this side of life. “Living and Dying” I will serve the Lord”.
“Promise Made, Promise Kept”.
