

Lucy “Sue” Adair, 94, passed away November 6, 2015. Visitation is Wednesday, November 11th from 6:00-8:00PM at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Funeral service will be Thursday, November 12th at 10:00AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow services at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family requests memorial donations be made to VFW National Home for Children; Kansas Cottage 3573 South Waverly Road, Eaton Rapids, Michigan 48827.
Sue was born February 26, 1921 to Gilbert and Eleanor Donley. She spent her life in the Kansas City, Kansas area and volunteered here time to a variety of organizations including Muscular Dystrophy and Catholic Charities where should crocheted hats for newborns. She was a member of VFW Ladies Auxillary Post 6401, Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 1100, and Grace Christian Church. Sue worked for 30 years as a retail clerk before her retirement. In her free time, she enjoyed ceramics, collecting angels, baking Povitica and Banana Bread for her family and staying busy.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Adair; three sisters; son-in-law, Philip Orender and daughters-in-law, Lois Sanders and Terrie Saunders. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Manuel Saunders of Lake Havasu, Arizona, Daniel Saunders of Kansas City, Kansas, Darlene Orender of Overland Park, Kansas, Thomas W. (Hazel) Adair of Kansas City, Kansas, William J. (Amanda) Adair of Memphis, Tennessee and Ida (Frank) Sutherland of Shawnee, Kansas; 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
