Marvin Gregory Cade

To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the Heavens. A time to be born…Marvin Gregory Cade was born to Jacob and Dorothy J. Cade on August 14, 1949 in Kansas City, Kansas. He was the oldest of four children.

During the early ‘70s, Marvin became a member of Roswell Church of Christ through the teaching of Brother Huey P. Hervey.

Marvin received his early education in Kansas City, Kansas, graduating from Wyandotte High School. Marvin completed an Associates in Arts at Kansas City Community College in Counseling; a Bachelor of Arts at St. Mary College in Human Services and Counseling; and a Master of Divinity at Central Baptist Theological Seminary.

Marvin has worked as a Paraprofessional and Teacher for Greenbrush in Fairfax since 2008, he worked for KVC as a case manager and counselor from 2005-2011, and lately he worked for the Holland Group Home as a Supervisor and Wal-Mart as an associate. His proudest accomplishments were volunteering for the Lansing Correctional Facility Prison Ministry, being a volunteer teacher at the Wyandotte County Jail and serving as Director at the St. Mary Food Kitchen.

And a time to die…He was preceded in death by both parents, and one brother, Tony Cade. Marvin departed this life on Saturday, March 26, 2016.

Marvin leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 43 years, Marcella Cade; three children: son, Shawn Wesley Cade of Tulsa and his three children, daughter, Shanta Monique West and her husband Le Edward West and their seven children, and daughter, Katharine D. Cade and her daughter; one sister, Sheryl Donnell and her children; one brother, Vincent Cade and his son; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Marvin’s Life will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, April 2nd at Roswell Church of Christ, 2900 Roswell Avenue, Kansas City, KS 66104.
