She was born August 6, 1938 in Louisville, Alabama to Alva and Fostine Bacon.
Mary Ann worked many years at Nat Nast in Bonner Springs, drove school buses and later trucks with her husband, Bill.
Mary Ann spent most of her life in the Lansing and Leavenworth areas. She graduated from 8th grade from Delaware School on Highway 5 along with her siblings. Mary Ann enjoyed spending time with her best friend “Buddy” and her family. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, watching WWE Wrestling and cheating in cards. But, she was the happiest when she had her grandchildren and great grandchildren on her lap.
Mary Ann was a wonderful example as she shared her faith with everyone she met. She was an active member of the Milam County Cowboy Church of Rockdale, TX.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Anders; a daughter Linda Patty; grandson Donald Wayne; her parents, Alva & Fostine Bacon; three brothers; Alvie Bacon, Albert Bacon, George Bacon; and two sisters; Phyllis Duncan and Nelda DeSpain.
Survivors include two sons; Billie J. Anders Jr. of KCMO and friend Jane Mandrell; Gene Anders and wife Tammy of Leavenworth, KS, and two daughters; Colleen McCutcheon and husband Bob of Independence, MO, and Laurie Purkey and four special dogs of Rockdale, TX. Best friends Linda Sheldon and Neva Catron. Four siblings; Beverly Gregory, Bill Bacon, Eddie Bacon, Bobby Bacon, ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
