Mary E. Rasdall of Olathe, Kansas, formerly of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Evergreen Community of Johnson County. Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 AM with a funeral service to follow on Thursday December 19, 2019 at Chapel Hill-Butler, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112.
Mary was born October 1, 1927 in the rural area of Hill City, Kansas to Charles Cyrille and Katie Evalyn (Morse) Fountain. She graduated from Hill City Memorial High School in 1945 and then attended Browne-Mackie Business College in Salina before moving to Kansas City, Kansas in 1946. She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She was a member of White Church Christian Church where she served as Deaconess, and a member of Victory Hills Golden Age.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald (Jerry) Rasdall; her parents; brothers, Clair, George Cyrille, and Charles Duane Fountain; sisters, Doris Jackson and Norma Gavin; and son-in-law, Thomas Bass.
Survivors include daughters, Phyllis Bass of Overland Park, Kansas and Paula and husband Marc Goodpasture of Stilwell, Kansas; grandchildren, James (Jim) Ferguson Olathe, Kansas, Amy Goodpasture of Houston, Texas, Allison and husband Jeff Epner Overland Park, Kansas, Terry Bass of Raymore, Missouri and Tammy Bass of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Dominique Sharp of Norborne, Missouri, Jackson Bass of Adrian, Missouri, Colton Bass of Adrian, Missouri and Nathan Bass of Adrian, Missouri; and great-great-grandson, Gabriel of Norborne, Missouri.
She was a loving and caring person, always wanting others to feel included and welcome. She loved her family and friends and we loved her, she will be missed. Memorial Contributions may be made to Evergreen Community or Evergreen Hospice.
