Steve was a devoted husband of 32 years to the woman he fell in love with at age 20. A proud, dedicated and loving father every day; he was a friend and hero to his son. He loved his mother and father deeply and cared for them all his life. The youngest of five children he was an ornery but loving baby brother. His greatest joy came from the happiness of the children near him; to whom he was protector, peer, uncle and grandpa. Steve spent his life in the aid of others; unwilling to pass by anyone in need. He was a truly talented person and there was no craft at which he didn’t excel. He worked as a skilled tradesman for the Unified Government for 17 years. Steve was a hard working man who was defined by both his strength and kindness. He will be missed by many more than can be mentioned here.
Survivors include his Wife Judy L. Franz; only Son Christopher E. Franz and Daughter-in-law Michelle T. Franz; Mother Marguerite Franz (Jody); Sister Vickie Boney; Brothers Ervin Franz, Kevin Franz and John Franz; Best Friend Paul Marrow (Butch); Many Nieces and Nephews; Grandchildren; Friends and Beloved Pets. In lieu of flowers memorial donations preferred to a local animal shelter. Visitation will be held at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home at 701 N 94th Street, KCKS on Friday November 8, from 6-8 p.m.
