Michael was born on October 4th, 1956, in Kansas City, Kansas to Clarence and Wynell Faye Holt. Michael was one of nine children.
He graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1974. Michael worked for 32 years at General Motors Fairfax and retired in 2008. After his retirement, he became the Assistant Manager at Village Hills Apartments.
Michael married Carla on his birthday, October 4th. 1983 and have been together for 47 years. The couple then welcomed 2 children into their home, Michael Wayne Holt II and Morgan Holt. Michael is remembered as a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Michael was an individual who was prideful, very caring and giving, strong willed, and loved to laugh. He enjoyed hosting BBQs, cutting his grass with his beverage of choice, washing his cars, traveling, a scenic view by the beach, enjoying time with his family and friends and loving his grand kids. Michael was also an avid Kansas City Chief’s football fan.
He is preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Wynell Holt, brothers Stanley Holt, Clarence Holt Jr., sister Rechinda Holt, and brother Charles Holt.
Michael is survived by his wife Carla L. Holt, his son Michael Wayne Holt II & daughter in-law Michaela Thompson, daughter Morgan M. Holt, and his twin grandsons Michael Wayne Holt III and Mikhael Lee Holt.
His siblings Marvel Jackson and husband Terrell Jackson, James Holt and wife Rishma Holt, Meredith Baylis and her husband Donald Baylis (deceased), Tonja Fight and her husband Marvin Fight Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A visitation for Michael will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill - Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112, followed by a funeral services at 11:00 AM.
