Nancy was born August 2nd, 1953 to the late William and Colleen Churchwell of Kansas City, Kansas. After graduating Wyandotte High School in 1971, Nancy began her career as a secretary at Amoco Oil. Nancy married Greg Novosel in 1972 and became a homemaker after their first child was born. She was devoted and truly loved caring for her children, nieces and nephews. The more children in the house, the happier Nancy was.
Everyone who met Nancy instantly became a friend and likely learned her life story. Nancy loved to talk to anyone who would listen. Prior to her stroke 22 years ago, Nancy found great joy cooking for her children and their friends. She was well known for her povitica and sugar cookies. Nancy was the happiest when she was able to be at any social gathering, surrounded by those who she loved.
Nancy was preceded in death by her sister, Karen Bortka. Nancy is survived by children, Katie Novosel, Kelly (Dan) Jarczyk and Kevin Novosel; grandchildren, Emryk and Eiley Jarczyk; three sisters, Cheryl (Rick) Saunders, Debbie Denson and Denise (Butch) Campanella; one brother, Bill Churchwell and many nieces and nephews.
The family of Nancy would like to thank the staff at The Healthcare Resort of Olathe and St Croix Hospice for the compassionate care that she received.
