Nobuko “Nikki” Gregory, 90, of KCK, passed away October 18, 2021. A visitation will be 5:00-7:00pm, Wed., Oct. 20th at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., KCK. Funeral services will be 11:00am, Thurs., October 21st at the funeral home with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Nikki was born November 15, 1930 in Hokkaido, Japan to Zuuske and Shige Oketo. She graduated high school and went to University to become a nurse. Nikki was also crowned Miss Hokkaido while in Japan. She met Kenneth C. Gregory while he was stationed in Japan and they married in the late 1950s. They moved to the Kansas City area and raised a family. She worked as a nurse for The Manor of KC, Providence Place, and Providence Hospital. Nikki retired in 2003. She was a member of the Leavenworth Road Association and the Crafting Club at Eisenhower Rec Center. Nikki loved crafting, quilting, and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Kenneth Gregory; and two sons, James and Allen Gregory.
Nikki is survived by her son, Ralph Gregory (Lori); her daughter-in-law, Virginia Gregory Lance (Richard); as well as six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and many siblings and other relatives in Japan.
