
Norman R. Smiley Sr, 78, of Kansas City, KS, passed away Friday, February 18, 2011 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. A Memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in the Lakeside Mausoleum of Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home. Norman was born on December 17, 1932 in Kansas City, KS, to Robert John and Margaret (Adair) Smiley. He was a graduate of Wyandotte High School. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Norman enjoyed his past time, putting models together, working on crossword puzzles and listening to the music of Elvis Presley. Norman is survived by his children: Norman R. Smiley Jr., Sharon L. Thomas, John R. Smiley and his wife Debbie, and Glenn W. Smiley all of Kansas City, KS. He will be sadly missed by his 7-grandchildren; Normie, Jennifer, Chrissy, Betty (BeBop), Jason, Kelli and Carissa.
