Olen is survived by his loving wife Evica “Eve”, son Marc (Michelle), daughter Laura, son Jason, grandson Marc, Jr. and the family dog Midnight. Olen was preceded in death by his parents, Olen F. “Jack” and Dorothy Jackson and his brother Thomas James “Jimmy” Jackson.
Olen was a U.S. Army veteran. Following his honorable discharge from the Army he began working for General Motors where he remained employed for 45 years. He retired from GM as a supervisor.
Olen was an expert mechanic and spent countless hours after his retirement maintaining his church’s property in Kansas City, Kansas.
Olen will be remembered for his sense of humor and his contagious laugh.
Services will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024, at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, 11001 Greenwood St., Lenexa, Kansas 66215. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, church service at 11:00 AM, followed by burial with Military Honors at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, Lenexa, Kansas.
