Olive Jean McCracken (Pope) was united with her Heavenly Father on December 29th, 2024, after living 91 years of a beautiful and fulfilling life. She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Doc McCracken, and her beloved son, Mitch McCracken.
Olive was born in Tuscumbia Missouri on March 20th, 1933, to Wesley and Mattie Pope. She married the love of her life, Doc, on March 28th, 1949, and together they created a beautiful family to include their son Gary and his wife Debbie, son Mike and his wife Patty, their son Mitch, and their daughter Stacy. They eagerly entered into the role of grandparents to seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Olive’s grandchildren provided a whole new meaning to her life. She enjoyed sharing her passions with them such as antiquing, gardening, square dancing, cooking, creating traditions, and providing them with a safe space to be welcomed, known, and unconditionally loved. She demonstrated the love of Christ through her fierce advocacy for her family, introducing many of them to Jesus by the way she lived her life and fought for them.
Olive was a devoted, clever, and loving woman who faithfully served Jesus as a member of West Haven Baptist Church. A celebration of her rich and inspiring life will be held on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025. The visitation will take place from 10:00am to 11:00am with a funeral service starting at 11:00 am at West Haven Baptist Church in Tonganoxie Kansas. A burial ceremony will follow at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
