Penny was born on September 18th, 1963 to Mary & Dave Norton in Terre Haute, IN. She moved to Kansas City, KS at 8 years old and has been a lifelong resident ever since. Penny was a Pharmacist Technician for 40 years. She married her “sexy husband” Ray Pender on July 27, 2002.
Penny is preceded in death by her mother Mary, in-laws Allen and Lorraine Pender, and grandson Gabriel. She is survived by her father Dave, husband Ray, sister Lisa (Lionel), daughters Kim (Luis) and Jessica (Ryan), sons Trey (Stephanie) and Cory (Kathleen), grandchildren Alexis, Marissa, Anthony, Gaby, Mariah, Elena, Brody, Brayden, Bryce, Isaac, Kalli, Brynlee, Karah, Ellis, great-granddaughter Leilani. She also left behind her precious fur babies, Bailey and Hailey.
Penny loved to shop and was always on the hunt for her next bargain at the local thrift stores! She was a kind, caring, and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. She was a woman of strong faith and she instilled in us the importance of family, hard work, and doing what is right. Penny was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

A visitation for Penny will be held Friday, November 10, 2023 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Chapel Hill - Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, KS 66112, followed by a funeral services at 3:00 PM. Penny will be laid to rest in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers are Trey Pender, Bryce Pender, Cory Pender, Luis Diaz, Anthony Diaz, Ryan King, Brody King, Brayden King and Isaac McFarlain.
