Philip Clinkenbeard, 81, passed from this earth to be present with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday July 28th. Phil was the 8th of the 11 children born to Charles and Lura Marie Clinkenbeard. After graduated from Omaha Baptist Bible College, he pastored in a small church in Oneiga, KS. He had several jobs in his career but spending most of his working days as custodian for KCK Board of Education. He was married to Barbara Chodrick in June 1965. Phil was known for his love for the Savior, his wealth of knowledge of the Bible, his faithfulness, and his love for his family and friends. He was a faithful member of Stony Point Baptist Church, serving many years as deacon and trustee. He enjoyed participating in Bible studies, praying, watching sports, playing jigsaw puzzles and having good conversations on various subjects. “...to know Your will and to do it” had always been his prayers to His Savior. His favorite phase in the Bible is “But God.” Phil will be greatly missed.
Phil is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara; his son, Tim Clinkenbeard (Pajaree); seven grandchildren, Shannon, Benjamin, Lydia, Phoebe, Eliana, Mallorie and Titus; three siblings, James Clinkenbeard, Samuel Clinkenbeard (Melissa) and Shirley Paul and twenty nieces and nephews.
Phil was preceded in passing by his parents, Charles and Lura, brothers and sister, Charles Clinkenbeard (Myrtle), Henry Clinkenbeard, Harold Clinkenbeard (Shirley), Harry Clinkenbeard, David Clinkenbeard, Benjamin Clinkenbeard, and Lura Marie Parish (Doyle), and two nephews and one niece.
Phil was followed in his death shortly after by his daughter, Melissa Hohndorf. Phil and Melissa are in the presence of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Visitation and Funeral Service for Phil will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Stony Point Baptist Church, 7938 Barnett Ave, KCK 66112. Visitation starts at 10 AM followed by Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.
Graveside Service will be held on Monday, August 9, 2021, at 11:00 AM at the mausoleum of Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens 701 N 94 St, Kansas City, KS 66112.
