Born in Paola, Kansas, September 25, 1935, to Herbert and Mary Walters; Eileen loved the outdoors and helping her father around the family farm. She began working at AT&T after graduating from Paola High School. She then married Charlie Stevens in July 6, 1957 and started a family in Kansas City, Kansas, where she resided until 2013.
She was a devoted mother and wife, who loved gardening, fishing with her husband, giving Bible studies, and helping others.
Eileen leaves her husband of 58 years, Charles Albert Stevens; her daughter Diana Jo Stevens; her son Jerry Lynn Stevens; her brother Roger Walters; her sister Dorothy Porter; four grandchildren, one great-grandson and many close friends.
A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday, July 22nd at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St. Kansas City, KS. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
