

Ramona Delores Ramirez of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on March 3, 2021. She was 81 years old. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 10:30 am at the Mausoleum at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Due to COVID-19, there will be limited seating and if you are planning to attend please wear proper facial covering and observe social distancing. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date this summer.
Ramona was born on August 31, 1939 in Kansas City, Kansas to Tom and Mary (Marquez) Ramirez, the oldest of three children. She attended and graduated from Wyandotte County High School and then continued her education at Kansas City Kansas Junior College where she earned her degree. After her schooling, Ramona worked as the bookkeeper at Hammer Brothers Garment Company for over forty years. She attended and worshiped at Queen of Holy Rosary in Overland Park.
Ramona was an avid sports fan and loved the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. She played Women’s softball for the Peck’s Good Girls and loved to go bowling. Ramona also enjoyed playing Mexican Train and numerous card games with her friends at Santé Fe High Rise.
Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Mary Ramirez.
Left to cherish her memory is one brother, Tom (Theresa) Ramirez; one sister, Ruby Phalp (Don-deceased); four nephews, Tim, Michael, Mark, and Matthew; one niece, Terri; great nieces, Alexandria, Felicia, Mariah, Andrea, and Kameron; one great nephew, Kayden; three great-great nieces, Gianna, Colette, and Paige; and two great-great nephews, Bradley and Jamison. Ramona was loved by so many and will live in our hearts forever.
