Raymond Frederick “Fred” Dillon Jr., 79, of Kansas City, KS went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 4, 2019. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, December 18th, at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., K.C.KS. Visitation will begin at 11:00am with a service immediately following at 12:00pm. Interment will follow at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
Fred was born on March 11, 1940 in Kansas City, KS to Raymond F. and Lydia A. (Manion) Dillon. He loved horses, skiing, hunting and fishing. He served in the U.S. Army from 1963 – 1965 and as an active reservist until 1969. He was a rough-in carpenter and builder in the community for over 20 years, then transitioned into selling and repairing construction tools and accessories.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents. He leaves behind one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Lisa Dillon, one brother, William Benjamin Dillon, one sister, Sharon Louise Engle, four grandchildren, one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family and adopted construction family that he served for much of his life.
