Richard Steve “Catfish” Bennett, 68, Kansas City, Kansas passed away October 5, 2017. A funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Interment will be immediately following at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Thursday, also at the funeral home.
Richard Steve was born on February 8, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Wyandotte High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army, stationed at Ft. Hood and then Bangkok, Thailand.
Richard Steve never met a stranger and loved being around others, he was very generous and giving. He had a very intellectual mind and was extremely smart. He was an avid Royals fan and enjoyed electronics and trains.
Richard Steve is preceded in passing by his parents, Richard and Hazel Bennett.
He is survived by his son, Michael Bennett; three grandchildren; and brothers, Floyd (Debbie) Bennett and Gary Bennett.
