

Robert Arthur Liveley, 90, of Lenexa, passed away June 22nd at home surrounded by family. Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday, June 28th at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS. Funeral services will be2:00 p.m., Monday, June 29th at the funeral home. Interment with Honors will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Robert was born August 9, 1924 in Kansas City, KS to Elmer and Vey Liveley. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Robert enlisted in the Marines and served in World War II in the Pacific Theater from December 27, 1941 to December 27, 1945 in the 4th Regiment, 6th Division Raiders as a Corporal. When he returned from the war, Wyandotte High School bestowed his graduation honors. He married MaryAnn O’Such on June 30, 1950 and they enjoyed almost 65 years of marriage. Robert worked for The Board of Public Utilities in Kansas City, Kansas for 38 years; he started in the boiler room and retired as the Superintendent of the Kaw Power Station. He loved to play poker at the VFW and play golf with the Nomads group from the Delaware Shrine. Robert could often be found watching the Jayhawks, the Royals and Nascar. In his own words, the greatest joy in his life was being a husband, father, and grandfather.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and sisters, Alice White, Clyde Liveley, Raymond Liveley, Marcella Hays, and Wanetta Farr; and his son-in-law, Paul Bennett.
He is survived by his wife, MaryAnn Liveley; his daughters, Judith Schaefer and her husband Mike, Janet Popek and her husband Ron, and Jean Liveley; three grandchildren, Darren Bennett, Katherine Schaefer, and Maxwell McClure; two siblings, Elmer Liveley and Dovex Liveley; one great-grandbaby on the way and many other friends and family.
