Robert Cary Page 1926-2021

Robert “Bob” Page died at Lakeview Village in Lenexa KS on January 3. He was born in Tyro, Kansas on February 13, 1926 to Frank and Mary (Service) Page, the youngest of four children. Frank, a Methodist minister, would be relocated often by the church and Bob would live in seven different small Kansas towns before graduating high school in Eskridge and joining the US Navy in 1944. Most of his service time as electrician mate was spent aboard the USS Langley where he saw the war end in the Pacific, then on to the Atlantic to shuttle Italian POWs to Naples and bring US troops home. After mustering out, he moved to Kansas City where his electrical training helped him secure employment with the Bendix Corp. (now Honeywell), eventually becoming a shift foreman. During a family visit in Emporia, he met the love of his life, Roberta Fullerton who was attending college there. They married in 1948, built a home in the Rosedale district of Kansas City, KS and raised three children, Stephen (1950-2015), Jeff (1952) and Karla (1953-1990). Bob took early retirement from Bendix, then went on to work another ten years as building maintenance supervisor for the Seaboard Corp. in Merriam.

In retirement, he and Roberta for several years would attend reunions of the Langley crew in various US port cities. They were also able to enjoy many good times at their Lake of the Ozarks cabin. Bob was a very active member of Southridge Presbyterian Church in Roeland Park, serving as deacon, elder and handyman over many years. He and Roberta moved to Lakeview Village in 2006.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Elizabeth, Dwight, and Eula; wife, Roberta; son, Steve; and daughter, Karla. He leaves son; Jeff; granddaughter, Page Bradley; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Page; and grandsons, Eric and Alec to mourn his loss.

The family extends its deepest gratitude to the Lakeview Village community and caregivers for the quality of life Bob and Roberta enjoyed. There is no service scheduled at this time. A celebration of life may be announced at a later date. The cremains of Bob and Roberta will be laid to rest next to Roberta's parents at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions to the Lakeview Foundation, 9100 Park St. Lenexa KS 66215 would be welcome in lieu of flowers.
