Rosalie Ann Erickson

Rosalie Ann Erickson, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away on February 26, 2020 at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission. She was 87 years old. A visitation will be Sunday afternoon, March 1, 2020 from 2:00-4:00 pm at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Funeral Service will be Monday, March 2, 2020 at 11:00 AM also at Chapel-Hill Butler, with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Rosalie was born on July 11, 1932 in Riley, Kansas to John and Ollie Jones. She spent her childhood years growing up on a farm in Riley. She graduated high school in 1950 from Clay Center High School. She married Leo G. Erickson on February 25, 1951. They raised three daughters together and were married for 62 years. They made their home in Clay Center, Kansas until moving to Kansas City, Kansas in August of 1953. Rosalie worked in the home, caring for children until she went to work for the Kansas City, Kansas Public School System as a lunch lady. The majority of her 36 years of service was spent at Welborn Elementary School with her last few years spent at Central Kitchen.

She was a member of VFW Post #5851. In her early years, she and her husband enjoyed spending time with their favorite neighbors. In her later years, she was a devoted grandma to four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and she was “Gigi” to 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, Leo G. Erickson; parents, Ollie J. Jones and John P. Jones; brother, Eugene P. Jones; sister, Marcene J. Remmers; and sons-in-law, Robert A. Brandt and Mark A. Martin.

Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Sharon K. Brandt, Joyce (Linda) M. Erickson, Nancy (John) J. Eldredge; four grandchildren, Lindsey (Joshua) J. Hughes, Lauren (Matthew) N. Bolsinger, Spenser (Taylor) M. Martin, Tiffany (Colin) M. Martin; two step-grandchildren, Kelsey L. Eldredge and Kourtney R. Eldredge; 13 great-grandchildren, Kylley, Zachary, Isaiah, Zoee, Chaynce, Kash, Calvin, Charley, Granger, Owen, Mason, Ollie, and Harrison; sister-in-law, Elnora Jones; many nieces and nephews; along with other family and friends.
