Born on December 21, 1942, in Harrisburg, Arkansas. Sam was the son of the late Frank and Lucille Neugebauer. He cherished the simple joys of life especially spending time at his home in Olivet, Kansas near Melvern Lake, where is also enjoyed fishing and the serenity.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lucille Neugebauer; his sister, Frankie Baker, his brother Carl Wayne Neugebauer and his sister, Patsy Reynolds.
He was formerly married to Lois Shrout from 1960 to 1986 and together they had 5 children which all survive.
Sam is survived by his daughter, Karen McCarty (Patrick); his sons Tom Neugebauer, Jeffery Neugebauer, Brian Neugebauer (Sharon), and Phillip Neugebauer all from the Kansas City area. He also leaves behind four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren who brought him immense pride and joy. Additionally, Sam is survived by his brothers, Larry Neugebauer, Rudy Neugebauer and Terry Neugebauer who will forever cherish his memory.
A visitation will be held Friday, January 10th at Chapel Hill Butler Funeral Home, 701 N 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas from 10:00 -11:00 am. Service at 11:00 am. Graveside service will follow at Gate of Heaven at North 126th Street & Parallel Parkway.
In sadness we say goodbye to a remarkable man whose love, laughter, and memories will forever remain in our hearts. Rest in peace Sammy.
