Shirley was born on September 29th, 1935, in Kansas City, Kansas to William and Bessie Hamm. She graduated from Wyandotte High School, Class of 1953. Shirley then worked as an administrative assistant for Trans World Airlines (TWA). Following this, she met and married Frank Armstrong in November of 1966. They then welcomed Gena (1968) and Gayla (1970), and Shirley enjoyed her time at home with the two girls. In 1980, Shirley once again continued her career as an administrative assistant this time for USD 500. While she truly enjoyed her time working for the school district, her greatest joy was time spent with her family. Shirley’s relationship with the Lord had a profound impact on her life, and she loved her time of fellowship at Northland Cathedral, especially their music.

(Mike) Peck; grandchildren, Frank and Megan Schleimer, Jessica, Benjamin (Jonathan), Faith, and Hope Lamb; great-grandchildren Nick, Maxwell, Mason, and RJ; and nieces, Valerie Paterson, Tracy Mulligan, Kristin Tyson, and Karla Nichols.
