Steven H Saunders

Steven H. Saunders of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away on January 29, 2014. Steve was born February 10, 1954 in Kansas City, Kansas the second of five boys born to Herb and Barbara (Liston) Saunders. He grew up in Kansas City, Kansas graduating from Washington High School and shortly after was drafted into the United States Air Force serving in Southeast Asia.

Steve worked as a lineman for a local Cable Company in Kansas City, Kansas; then he went into Security, most recently working at the Argosy Casino from which he retired. Steve was always good with his hands and was always tinkering on something. He also enjoyed fishing and being around the water.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Stan Saunders. Survivors include his wife of 24 years; Linda Saunders of the home, one son Scott Saunders and wife Sandi of Lenexa, Kansas, one daughter Melanie Purcell and husband Bryan of Purcell, Missouri, three brothers; Gary L. Saunders and wife Toni of Bonner Springs, Kansas, Greg A. Saunders and wife Glenette of Kansas City, Kansas, and Mike L. Saunders and Jane Kuckelman of Shawnee, Kansas, as well as six grandchildren; R.J., Brandon, Devin, Aiden, Marle and Elise, and three great-grandchildren; Jonathan, Courtney and Dominic.

The visitation will be Monday, February 3, 2014, from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., with the service at 12:30 p.m., both at Alden Harrington Funeral Home, located at 214 Oak Street in Bonner Springs, Kansas. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
