We are touched in our hearts as memories of Terry playing basketball and football in our younger days.  He was a good man.

Rest in Peace Terry

It has taken me a few days still to process all of this. It has been days of mixed emotions. My dad is my dad he came into my life when I was two years old. And stayed. He helped my mom raise me. He treated me as if I was his. He was hard on me and he was easy on me at times. My dad thought me how to be a man. He watched me grow and now that i am older now I realize I watched him grow also. My dad would tell jokes and pull pranks on me lol. We would watch sports together on sundays and even play football out in the yard. He would take me to air shows and to some historical places around Kansas City. His love of history passed down to me and that’s where I found the love of history. In 1998 he was blessed with his first grandson. He was very proud of becoming a grandfather. He was very proud of the young man his grandson became. Then 2013 he gained two grandchildren and loved them just as much. Then in may of 2019 he gained a great grandson. Once again he was proud. My dad was a good man. May not have been perfect but come one who really is. All that matters is that now he is not hurting, sick etc. He is now whole again. I am sad I am mad but im also happy. Im also happy to have this man as my dad. Wouldn’t want it any other way. Dad thank you for the life memories that I will cherish always. This isn’t a goodbye but it’s a see you later dad. I love you

It is with deep regret to learn my best friend Terry Mills has passed. 

We grew up together in Kansas City, Kansas in the neighborhood vicinity of Barnett and Tauromee between eighth and ninth streets; we played basketball, baseball, and football (Terry loved football and was known as “steel knees” by all in our neighborhood kids as he could run for a touchdown and no one could take him down).  

We went fishing together at Wyandotte County lake, and he enjoyed being outdoors.

One favorite way to remember Terry was his impression of Bill Cosby’s comical “Hey, hey…who’s there…fat Albert” brought many smiles to neighbors kids in the area.

He was a master at playing chest as we countless  hours in  chest challenge after challenge testing each other’s intellectual strategies in quite solitude. Terry was very astute in his intellectual abilities.

When I left to go serve in the military Terry wanted to go join too.  His longing to serve his Country was admirable in the military.
