

Terry “TR” Ross, 66, went to be with the Lord on May 3, 2015 following a lengthy illness, with his family by his side. A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 6th from 6:00-8:00 PM with the funeral service on Thursday, May 7th at 3:00PM at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., KCKS 66112; 913-334-3366. Interment will follow services at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Terry was born April 17, 1949 to Raymond and Wilma (Parker) Ross. He lived in KCK and graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1967. Terry joined the United States Army in 1969 and became a decorated Vietnam War veteran. On September 4, 1970, he married Vicki Sherrick and together they had 3 children. Terry worked for the Rock Island/SP/UP Railroad for 39 years before his retirement and was a member of the UTU. In his free time, he enjoyed riding his Harley and taking short trips whether it be on his bike or in the car. Terry will be remembered by his family and friends for his love, friendship and his quick witted sense of humor.
Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Wilma and his niece, Donna Jean Hicks. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Vicki; son, Steve (Jessica) Ross; daughters, Gina (Conrad) Vega and Nicole (Ellsworth) Jeffries; grandchildren, Dominic, Gabriel, Ashley, and Anissa; great-grandchildren, Jayden and Mila; sister, Carolyn (David) Hicks; brother, Robert (Jodi) Ross; brother-in-law, Joseph (Judy) Sherrick; close friends, Larry Ewing, Scott Mallory, Darrell Walker and family; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Terry’s family would like to extend their sincerest thank you to the staff of Crossroads Hospice as well as Golden Living Parkway staff for the care and compassion that they showed not only to Terry but also to his family while he was in their care.
