

Thelma Lee King, 49, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away suddenly on July 14th. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 22nd at Grace Baptist Church of Greater Kansas City, 7203 Paseo Blvd, KC, MO 64132. Friends may call from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Thelma was born November 29, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois to Robert Lee King, Sr. and Velma T. Evans. She came from a strong Christian home and accepted Christ at the young age of 9 years old. Thelma attended Northwest Middle School and left to help her family. She worked at the Holiday Inn and later Gates BBQ, but her most beloved job was taking care of her home and her family. Her cooking was legendary, especially her fried chicken and French fries, shrimp and chicken legs. Thelma was a big winner on scratcher tickets and she enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially while on the back of a motorcycle.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Leona Smith; her nieces, Eshe King and Tyra Smith and her nephew, Robreco King.
Thelma is survived by her father, Robert Lee King, Sr. and his wife Debra; her mother, Velma Evans; her fiancé, Adrian Wright; her children, Aziz Luckett-King, Jhonetta King, Isaiah Herron, Arian Wright; her grandson, Nehemiah King; her siblings, Johnny Evans, Robert King, Jr., Beatrice King, Frankie King, Gloria King, Victor King; her best friend, Jaconda White; her nieces, Giriha Lucas and Horshawna Robinson and a host of other nieces, nephews, other friends and family.
