Thomas Lee Richmeier, age 69, passed away on March 25, 2026. Tom was born on May 18, 1956 in Quinter, Kansas to Leo F. Richmeier and Viola (Dinkel) Richmeier. Tom was the oldest of 4 boys born to the couple. He was followed by Edwin, Leo, and John.
Tom’s early education was at Gove elementary school in Gove, KS and Wheatland High School in Grainfield, KS.
After High school he went to Vo tech in Liberal, Kansas to earn a degree in Welding then and years later went to Goodland Vo tech to earn his degree in Telecommunications.
In 1999 when Tom graduated from Vo tech he went to work for Sprint in New Century Kansas which evolved into many different company names, Norton Siemens, CenturyLink. During that time Tom not only received his BA in Business but also his MA in Business Management also.
Tom met Karen Carpenter in 2014 at CenturyLink in 2014 and they were married on November 14, 2015.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents Leo Richmeier and Viola Richmeier.
Tom lived in Olathe KS from 1999 until 2020 when he and Karen relocated to Wickenburg, AZ.
Tom was a Member of the Knights of Columbus, both in Olathe KS and in Wickenburg, AZ. He served as the Treasurer St. Anthony of Padua Council No. 9838, and Sixth Degree San Juan Diego Assembly No.2836. Thomas was also very active in the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Wickenburg and the St. Vincent De Paul Council associated with the church also.
Tom is survived by his brother Edwin and wife Una; their sons Patrick of Quinter and Randy, his wife Abi and their children Delaney, Shay and Beau, all of Hays; brothers John Richmeier of Gove, Kansas and Leo Richmeier of Grinnell, Kansas; his wife Karen Richmeier of Wickenburg, AZ; two step-children, Renee Weeks and Jeremy Carpenter; and four step-grandchildren.

A rosary will begin at 9:00 am followed by a prayer service on Friday, April 10, 2026 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Interment will immediately follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
