Vera M. Babcock

Vera Babcock, 84, of Shawnee, KS, passed away Monday, December 3 at Shawnee Gardens. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 7th at Chapel Hill-Butler, 701 N. 94th St., KCK. Friends may call from 1:00-2:00 p.m. preceding the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Oak Grove Christian Church of KCK.

Vera was born January 15, 1928 in KCK to Forest and Clara Gerby. She graduated from Argentine High School and later married Warren Babcock in 1949. Vera was a member of Oak Grove Christian Church and worked in the home. She enjoyed sewing and cooking and she doted on her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Warren Babcock, her parents, and sister, Martha Foltz.

Vera is survived by her three daughters, Janet Ernst and husband Jim of KCK, Marsha Davey and husband Greg of Shawnee, KS, Lou Ann Emery and husband Ricky of KCK; sister Stella Hendee-Heim and husband Kenneth; grandchildren, Chris Ernst and wife Kama, Stacie Kelso and husband Steven, Kyle Davey and Alan Davey; great granddaughter Jane Ernst and many family and friends.
