OBITUARY
Vince V. Balok
March 21, 1929 – March 30, 2018
Vince V. Balok, 89, passed away March 30, 2018. Private family services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in the South Florida VA National Cemetery. Vince was born March 21, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan. He served in the United States Army from 1946-48 in Italy and Yugoslavia/Serbia. After his honorable discharge, Vince was joined in marriage to Frances on January 29, 1949. He worked for many years for Michigan Consolidated Gas Company, working on the Alaskan and Midwest pipelines as a systems analyst, engineer and blasting consultant. Vince retired in 1985. He was very involved with the Apostolic Christian Church while living in Michigan and Florida. Vince was also an avid fisherman, enjoyed organic gardening, and raised canaries. He was also very talented and could build almost anything, including his family home in Michigan. Vince was very loved and will be missed dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Frances Balok; his siblings, Ann Albu, Viola Michalski, Mary Coin, and John Balok; and his daughters-in-law, Patty Balok and Heather Balok. Vince is survived by his children, John Balok, Gary Balok (Becky), Lynn Balok, Randy Balok (Marie), and Gail Carman-Greenawalt (Merlin); as well as nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. We sure had a rich heritage growing up with cousins and aunts and uncles so close to home. I will always cherish and thank God for the visits with your family. We grew up together and for that I'm grateful.
