William “Bill” Gillette, son of Edward Ambrose Gillette and Ella Mae Niles, was born on Feb. 10, 1930 in West Plains, MO. Bill passed away at his home July 10, 2015 at the age of 85 years, and 5 months in Kansas City, KS. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War. After his discharge from the Navy, Bill moved to KCMO, where he met and married Mercyl Margaret “Peggy” Laessig. They moved to KCKS in 1958. They had four children, Michael (Anita) Gillette, Carol (Mark) Morris, Edward (Janice) Gillette, and Gary (Jackie) Gillette. Bill was a loving father, grandfather to four and great-grandfather to two. He was employed by Montgomery/Kone Elevators & retired in 1990 with 35 years of service. Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife Peggy, his three brothers and three sisters. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
There will be a private ceremony celebrating his life at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, with Burial immediately following in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
