William Henry Smith, Jr. was born March 12, 1926 in Kansas City, Kansas to the union of William Henry Smith, Sr. and Vivian Henderson Smith. He was the oldest of the three children. He was preceded in death by his parents and youngest sister, Mary Lee Smith-Hodges.
He was married to Margaret Booker-Smith on June 21, 1956, for 56 years and to this union were born three children, Ervin Henry Smith, Beverly Ann Smith, and Linda Marie Smith.
William worked for International Paper Co. for 39 years upon retiring on March 29, 1991. After retiring he loved to work part-time and garden.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Booker-Smith, three children; Ervin H. Smith, Beverly A. Smith, Linda M. Smith, grandson, Lionel G. Smith, sister, Opal Lee Ross, and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
