Obituary of Wilma Olive Dill
Wilma Olive Dill, 96, Kansas City, KS went to meet her Lord on January 18, 2022. Born in Parker, KS, she was the daughter of Thomas and Lillie Cockran. After graduating from Parker High School, she began working in Kansas City as a secretary for an insurance company. A few months later, she married her high school sweetheart, Loraine “Mike” Dill, and they shared over 70 years together. Wilma was an active member of Sunset Hills Christian Church and enjoyed serving at the church, including the women’s ministry and the Sunday School program. She was a skilled seamstress, enjoyed reading, and loved spending time with and bragging about her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her independence and instilling that same independent spirit in her daughters and grandchildren. When asked about her husband, Mike, she would always respond with “he was a good man”. Well, Wilma was a good woman. She is survived by her children, Michelle (Glenn) Harris and Patrice (John) Cross; grandchildren, Shawn (Chelsea) Harris, Jeremy (Tiffany) Harris, Kevin Harris, Shana (Chris) Gassen, Michaela Cross, and Keshia (Peter) Jefferis; and great-grandchildren, Hayden Harris, Grayson Harris, and Ezekiel Jefferis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike; her parents, Thomas and Lillie; and her siblings, Ruby, Alberta, and Lloyd. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, January 24, 2022, at Sunset Hills Christian Church, 6347 Leavenworth Rd., Kansas City, KS 66104. Masks are required. A graveside service will be immediately following at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Sunset Hills Christian Church.
