Abigail Diane Martinez

Born on February 15, 1955, to Paul and Virginia H. Martinez, Diane spent her formative years in Raytown, Missouri, where she also attended Raytown High School. Diane's greatest joy was found in the company of her cherished daughter and grandchildren, for whom she held immense affection. She delighted in visits with her sister Gloria in Oklahoma and treasured the moments spent alongside her mother and both sisters at various craft shows. Family gatherings held a particularly special place in her heart, especially the annual Fourth of July celebration, which coincided with her mother's birthday and was marked by joyful cakes and vibrant fireworks – a truly special tradition for the Martinez family.

Diane was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Paul and Virginia H. Martinez; her brother, Eligio (Leo) Martinez; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Virginia Marie Martinez; and her adored grandchildren, Star Marie Antonia Raspberry, Isis Simone Raspberry, and Hakeem Prince Elijah Martinez Switzer. She also leaves behind her siblings: Gloria and Ron Howell of Jenks, Oklahoma; Santos (Tony) and his wife Nina Rios of Lees Summit, Missouri; Elizabeth and Dennis Carver of Blue Springs, Missouri; and Marion and his wife Krissy Martinez of Kansas City, Missouri. Her legacy also lives on through many cherished nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces, all of whom she deeply loved.

Visitation will be held at St. Bernadette Parish, 9020 E 51st Terrace, Kansas City, MO 64133, US, on March 23, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, followed by the Funeral Mass at the same location on March 23, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

A Committal Service will take place at Mt Olivet Catholic Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO, 64138, on March 23, 2026, from 11:15 am to 11:30 am.
