

Albert Darling, Sr. passed away January 18, 2016. Born August 12, 1925 in Kansas City, Mo., Al graduated from Southwest High School in 1942, attended the University of Missouri and was a member of the Sigma Chi XiXi Chapter. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1946, last serving on the USS LSM 4 in the Pacific Theatre.
Al was the President of K.C. Envelope Co. and the CEO and President of Darling Envelope Corp. He was a Vanguard Club member, past President of Indian Hills Country Club, member of Hillcrest Duck Club and a proud sponsor of Ducks Unlimited since 1960. Al was a life member of the NRA, Kansas Rifle Association and American Legion Post 21 of Independence, Mo. He especially cherished his many pheasant hunting trips to South Dakota. Nothing was more important than his family - especially the many years and special memories at Old Hickory at the Lake of the Ozarks.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Naomi Darling, his beloved wife, Nancy G. Darling and his sister Barbara Davis. Al is survived by his children: Jim and Gaye Morgan, Julie Byars, Lisa Darling, Bert and Ellen Darling and Wendy Stuckenschneider. He was extremely proud of all of his children and fortunate to know and beloved by nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The family gratefully acknowledges and thanks the staff of Claridge Court and Continua Hospice for the love, care and compassion shown.
Visitation will be held at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd, on Thursday, January 21 at 12:00 p.m. Memorial service following at 1:00 p.m.
