

Mr. Albert Floyd Robins passed away August 13, 2015 at the VA Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Albert was born on May 16, 1946 in Richmond, CA to Mr. Floyd Robins and Lula Mae Robins, who preceded him in death, along with his brother, Carl Robins; sister, Floydia Merriwether; and son, DeMarco Harvey.

Albert graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1964. Later he was hired by the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier. Near the end of the Vietnam War, Albert was drafted into the United States Army. He attended NCO School where he became a Sergeant. Albert was injured by a booby-trap while fighting in the war and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his bravery, aggressiveness and devotion to duty and in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service reflecting great credit upon himself, his unit, the 25th Infantry Division, and the United States Army, August 11, 1970.
Albert also worked for McDonald’s as a manager for 10 years before returning to the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier and then supervisor. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 2000 when he had his right leg amputated. However, this did not keep him down. He continued to grow in the Lord and became more faithful to the Lord.
Albert was a true fan of baseball. He played in his teens with the Quindaro Dragons under the coaching of Joe Greer and later coached the Harvest Church baseball team. He was an avid Royals baseball fan and enjoyed KU Jayhawk basketball.
Albert was a visionary and planner who consistently planned fun events for his family and friends. He said if something had to be said about him it would be that he loved the Lord. He was devoted to his loving wife and family. These were not just empty words. Albert showed this love everyday of his life.
Albert leaves to cherish his loving memories: his wife, Linda Robins, sons: Bobby Robins (Lorna) of Memphis, TN, Michael Braswell, Saverio Parker (Ebony), Carl Robins and Del'Andre Campbell of Kansas City; Nicholas Thomas (Angela) of Miami, FL; daughters: Desiree Robins of Memphis, TN, Rochelle Mayberry and Alicia Robins both of Kansas City; Nicole Traphan of Austin, TX. Brothers: Luther Robins (Ermalene), Suisun, CA; Michael Robins (Marie) of Denver, CO; Norwood Robins (Gloria) of Kansas City. Sisters: Izola Heard, Josephine Fleming, and Cherie Hakim (Bilial) all of Kansas City. He also leaves 21 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. His best friends Billy Boyce and Arthur Walston of Kansas City will forever cherish his memories.
