Alessandra Marie Simon, 47, passed away Thursday, September 27th, 2018. Visitation will be from 6-8:30 PM Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the Church of the Nativity Catholic Church, 3800 W. 119th St., Leawood, KS with a rosary recitation at 6PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 AM Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018 at the church. Private family burial. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Supporting Kids Foundation.
Alessandra was born in Poughkeepsie, NY. She attended Our Lady of Fatima Elementary School in Wilton, CT and graduated from the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich, CT. She received a BS in business and finance from George Washington University in Washington, DC in 1993. She worked as an Asst. Treasurer at AIG Trading and later as an analyst at Price Waterhouse. She met her husband, John Simon in 1994 and they were married at the Basilica of St. John the Evangelist in Stanford, CT.
Alessandra, called “Ali” by her family and friends, was active in many civic and religious organizations, and was a passionately committed member of the Nativity Parish and School community. She was a Director of the Deer Creek Home Owners Assoc. and a director of Turning Wine into Water, a charitable organization developed by her father and brother to develop clean water resources in Africa for the poorest of the poor. She was a director of her family’s business, Nicholas-Roberts, Ltd, fine wine merchants.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, John Simon; her daughter, Elizabeth and her two sons, William and Alexander; her parents, Nicholas and Therese Troilo; two brothers, Robert and Peter; many aunts, uncles, nieces and the loving members of the Simon family.
