

Alexander Stewart, Jr., 75, of Cameron, MO, passed away on Thurs. February 2, 2012 at Cameron Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Alexander was born May 11, 1936 in Kansas City, MO to Alexander Stewart, Sr. and Eugenia C. (Kohr) Stewart. He was a life long member of the Roman Catholic Church. Alex had been employed by the Kansas City Parks Dept. He was also active with the Boy Scouts of America for over 50 years, serving with several troops. During this time he enjoyed helping boys become men on the many campouts, Camporees, and trips to the H. Roe Bartle Reservation (formerly Camp Osceola). He also had the opportunity to attend the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. For his scouting leadership, Alex was presented the Bronze Pelican Award by the Catholic Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph. Alex was also a member of the tribe of Mic-O-Say and the Order of the Arrow. Alex was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Barbara Jean (Stewart) Rueckert. He is survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 6 at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd, Kansas City MO, with visitation an hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Forest Hill-Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Heart of America Boy Scout Council, Kansas City, MO.
