He served in the Army Air Force during World War II as a Flight Traffic Clerk and attained the rank of Sergeant and received a WWII Victory Metal. He was previously employed by Bendix, Allied Signal, and Honeywell as an Electronics Technician and Troubleshooter.
He is survived by three children: Alfred Gonzales, Deni Carleton-McVay and Richard (Connie) Gonzales. Grandchildren: Kyle (Amber) and Todd (Erica). Great-grandchildren: Khloe, Isla, and Ryder. Brothers: Manual and Valentine, Sisters: Martha, Mary, Margaret, Annie, Belen, and Frances. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rafael Cavazos and Martina DeLeon (Morales) Gonzales, brothers Tim, Ralph, Louis, and Tom, sisters Rose and Candy, and son-in-law Tim McVay.
Inurnment will be at a later date at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens East, Lee's Summit, MO.
