She leaves behind three brothers, Linwood, Charles and Monty, her sister Beverly Baker and two daughters, Shannon (Julian) Vallejo, and Amanda McNary, and grandchildren Mateo, Jonathan, Luca, Emilia and Elena.
Kay was born in Kansas City and lived in the metro for her entire life. She devoted 39 years to her career at DST Systems as a project manager. Most recently she had also worked as dispatcher for Clay County Sherriff's office, and as a security guard at North Kansas City Hospital.
Kay enjoyed competing in basketball, softball, trapshooting, darts and bowling. She may have been the biggest Chiefs fan in Kansas City. Affectionately known as ‘Nana’, her favorite past time was spending time with her grandchildren.
