February 13, 1947February 9, 2021

Alice Victoria Hernandez (Vicki) was called home on February 9, 2021. Vicki was born on February 13, 1947, to David and Modesta Hernandez. She was raised and lived most of her 74 years on the “The Hill”, the Westside of Kansas City. Vicki attended Redemptorist School. She married and raised her family in the house next to the home she grew up in. Vicki’s greatest blessing, besides her children and grandchildren, was her skill for cooking and baking. She was well known by everyone in the neighborhood. She welcomed them with open arms and they never left her home hungry. Vicki enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren / great-granddaughters, baking, cooking, and shopping/ eating out with her sisters. Vicki worked at Honey Bake Farms, Westside Bar and Grill (owned by her family), Cancun, Californias and many others. Vicki will always be remembered for her “tell it like it is” attitude, and her sense of humor. She had an unconditional love for her large family. Her grandchildren and great-granddaughters brought her immense joy and she was dedicated to their happiness. Vicki is survived by her three children: Tricia Marie Florez, Julie Ann Florez (Fred), and Julian Florez III (Theresa). Five grandchildren: Jacqueline Florez (Arturo), Anthony Florez (Lilia), Lance Vargas, Alicia Florez and Julian Florez IV; two great-granddaughters: Lilly Florez and Valencia Lopez; extended family Alex and Aireana. Sisters Josie, Loretta, Leonor, Patty (Bob), Gloria; Brothers: Robert (Colleen), Richard, Steven (Cathy) and 43 nieces and nephews, She was preceded in death by Julian Florez Jr.; her husband Gilbert Muzquiz, parents Modesta and David; brothers David Jr, Larry and sister Teresa.
