Alice Louise Thomas

Alice was born on April 18, 1928, in Collins, Missouri to Harry and Eva Holcomb. She grew up in the Collins/Osceola, Missouri area and she was a graduate of the Osceola High School. She moved to the Kansas City area at the age of 17 and worked for Sears Roebuck; she later moved on to become an executive secretary at Skelly Oil and spent the remainder of her career as a legal secretary until her retirement at the age of 70.

Alice was an avid gardener, bird watcher, and a member of the Hallmark Ornament Club. She loved puzzles and crosswords, vacations in the mountains and the beach, and spending time with her family. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and enjoyed having her family gathered together.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, a brother (William Holcomb), a sister (Dean Bickley), and two grandchildren (Keith and Keegan Brown).

She is survived by her three children; Paula Langdon, Olathe, Kansas, Patricia (Tom) Sprenkel, Leander, Texas; David (Jerrymay) Thomas, Jacksonville, Florida; Five granddaughters Emily (Angie) Brown, Leander, Texas, Alyson (Ben) Wilbers, Olathe, Kansas, Blair (Eddie) Kuschel, Leander, Texas, Jasmine Thomas, Jacksonville, Florida, and Stefani Thomas, Jacksonville, Florida; Six great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandsons, as well as several nieces and nephews and friends that loved her dearly.

Services will be held Thursday, the 17th of February at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road Kansas City, MO 64131. Visitation will be held at 11:00 AM followed by a Funeral Service at noon and Graveside Committal Service at 1:00 PM.
